Stellar. Small note. Humans have a great fondness for naming. The speaker said she regrets to this day not asking her rescuer his name. Actually of course, this led her to appreciating _the heart of_ her experience. There is a tendency to neglect _the heart of_ some thing once it has been labelled. But it's not a thing at all, but a _revealing._ Forget you the naming. I would note that when she says 'the amygdala', she is more specifically referring to the _right_ amygdala. Dr. Todd Murphy (a student of Dr. Michael Persinger...) points out in his books and online lectures (available here) that the left amygdala isn't fear, but _positive emotion,_ like joy and bliss. It is interesting that the amygdala breaks the usual symmetry found in the brain, in terms of functionality by hemisphere. In the amygdala, its reversed. Described eloquently by Dr Ian McGilchrist. There are many mental exercises one can do when working with people possessed by anxiety, involving _imagining_ the amygdala reducing in its level of activity. Very simple. You do this in an 'altered state' , at first with eyes closed so you can concentrate, simply by imagining a lever or dial gradually lowering its amplitude. The more vivid the mindscape, the more effective, basically. You can't imagine you are in a room full of levers and dials, and you locate the one labeled anxiety/fear/amygdala. How absolutely essential, in my mind. You must understand the subconscious -- which controls autonomic processes, without you needing to be aware explicitly -- does not make the distinction between "real" and imagined that the ego does. One of these days i will make a video on courage and suicide, a case study of the birth horoscope of Curt Cobain. The ancient sages figured out something called "The Lot of Courage", which is mathematically derived from the distances two planets and the Ascendant (horoscope) itself, the primary planet being Mars. The Lot is activated in measurable ways throughout the life span. In terms of decades, years and months, like clockwork. In case you're wondering where, in this case, COURAGE, comes from .... We normally think of suicides as cowards; actually of course it takes, in the vernacular, balls. Again, stellar presentation, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Wonderful human being, although a little intimidating physically. Fortunately i know how to decrease (right) amygdala activation using the powers of the mind.

Although Michael's books speak of management and the five forces that govern a successful company, This does not add in any way to the traditional understanding of costing, raw materials, sales etc. What could be told in a paragraph, he has told in 800 pages. I would instead recommend peter drucker's innovation and entrepreneurship, where he describes the need for & methods of launching a successful product and at what conjectures in history to launch it.

According to me a tradeoff Idea/strategy in this lecture is very practical and needs to understand in broad sense: Making the "Set of customers unhappy" and at the same time making another set of customers Happy" is one the very practical points in today's era. Pleasing everyone is not desirable for sustainable profitability. Be Choosee in the selection of a set of customers once select the market and form a customer base!
